It is a great start to a leisure activity for lazy gardeners like me who have their own laissez-faire in every matter and this crop never complains. An afternoon watering and an inconsiderable approach towards staking the plants have not hindered their growth and they have continued to spill over the sides in the last couple of years that I have been planting tomatoes in tomato pots.

 The places where ground planting is impossible like driveways and walkways are often most suitable for growing tomatoes in pots. They should be exposed to sufficient sunlight and kept away from slug habitat for their prosperous growth. Since these plants have a very social nature I have been able to grow two plants in the larger pots and even more than that in pots of considerably larger sizes.

Raising tomatoes in containers are considerably gaining popularity in recent years owing to its numerous advantages. Apart from the satisfaction and delight that it provides it also prevents many harmful disease that this backyard crop of America is prone to.

The biggest advantage is that the chances of late blight (A common diseases of tomatoes) caused mainly due to the old soil are greatly reduced. Tomatoes, potatoes and egg plants are some vegetables that need fresh potting soil for their better growth. Fresh soil can be used in the pots every year and old soil can be reused for other crops.

Not only through tomato pots I have been utilizing my leisure time in a very productive way but I have also cut down on many other nasty habits of mine. I had always been a couch potato and so addicted to my idiot box that it had gradually started taking a toll on my health but now I am relieved. I am more engrossed in plantation of tomatoes these days and the tomato pots are almost like a child to me whose care and concern has become my foremost priority.
